Projects
The Heritage Project
As the project title suggests, my group aims to share the life stories of Korean American elders. Every month, we meet with seniors living in Queens and interview them. We believe that each elder’s story is precious; each story is a unique look into the history of Korea and America.
Our ultimate goal is to help these elders feel less lonely, and give them an outlet to express their innermost thoughts, feelings, and memories. We have conducted five interviews so far, and are in the process of creating a website in which we can share their stories.
Standing Out
This initiative aims to raise important questions, prompting a reflection on the difficulties East Asian students encounter in dispelling stereotypes. Despite their earnest endeavors in various aspects of life, the project seeks to explore the reasons behind the persistent challenge of standing out in the face of prevailing perceptions.
